Julie who?

My working life began below ground, in diamonds and oil. Upgrading into the technology sector in the mid-1980’s, I moved into hardware, software and integrated IT/telecommunications. If it had a computer at one end, and a phone at the other, I sold it! I grew business in new name sales, major account management and partner management.

As a marketing professional since the mid 1990’s, I’ve been involved with proposition building, planning and strategy, event management, press and publicity, direct and indirect campaigns, research, lead generation, contact management and of course, copywriting. I launched my own business January 2002 and get a big buzz from helping clients get ‘pitch-perfect’.

Extras

In my non-work time I write fiction. I've penned a few short stories and have lately embarked on a bigger project - my first novel. Writing stories from imagination is a world away from business communications and I'm on a steep learning curve, but enjoying the process immensely. You can read about my writing adventure in my personal blog, A Writer's Notepad.

I'm also a keen student of Pilates; I love going to the theatre, and I'm prone to spend hours on wet Sunday afternoons getting creative with inks and paper, making cards and customising dull brown notepads into mini works of art.
